One day, when he presented sake to Lord Ieyasu, who was visiting for falconry, he was very pleased with it and praised the well water used for the sake. It is said that at that time, Prince Ieyasu personally picked chrysanthemums that were blooming on the riverbank and said, ``Let's use this as the family crest,'' so the Egawa family crest was changed to the crest of ``Igata 16-petal chrysanthemum.'' It is also said that the sake produced by the Egawa family was presented to the Osaka summer camp and was favored as the sake of Chongyo. By the way, the local ``Egawa Sake Brewing Association'' has revived the production of sake, and it is said to be popular as a fantastic sake. (From Fujinokuni Ieyasu Tourism Encyclopedia)
