Kurohanpen is a boiled kamaboko unique to Shizuoka Prefecture that is made from blue fish such as sardines, mackerel, and mackerel. It originated from the processing of blue fish caught in abundance on the foreshore to make it last longer and to be eaten. It was called ``Hanbe'' because of its grayish-white color and half-moon shape, but it can be distinguished from the white ``Hanpen.'' Because of this, it came to be called "Black Hanpen". It can be eaten as is, or grilled and eaten with ginger or wasabi soy sauce. It is also an indispensable ingredient for fried foods, stews, and oden, and is loved by many locals.
