The history of dango to ward off evil dates back to 1854, when Kanzeon's famous dango, an idea by the temple priest Hachizaemon, was added to souvenirs when visiting castles. Since it was named ``Kushi Dango'' by the Shogun family, general worshipers have been allowed to eat it as well.
Nowadays, it has many fans who say, ``The sweetness of the bean paste is modest and delicious,'' and ``If I'm in the area, I'd like to stop by to buy it.''
