Kawane tea is a tea produced in the Kawane region, located in the middle and upper reaches of the Oi River in central Shizuoka Prefecture. Kawane tea, which is grown in this region surrounded by mountains and has short daylight hours and large temperature differences between day and night, has a less bitter taste and contains a lot of nutrients in its leaves.
Kawane tea has a long history, and tea was already mentioned in the land survey book of 4. The tea-making and tea-making techniques that were developed through the efforts of local tea masters have been passed down to this day, and the tea industry has won many top prizes at various tea competitions, including the National Tea Competition, every year.
The tea leaves are needle-shaped and emit a calming glow. Kawane tea, which is brewed at a low temperature, has a rich flavor, a pleasant astringency, a transparent color, and a soothing aroma that will make the drinker feel relieved.
