Pione is a cross between Kyoho and Canonhole Muscat, and is characterized by its large grains, rich aroma, rich sweetness, and chewy flesh.
The Miyakoda/Takizawa area in the northern part of Hamamatsu City is the prefecture's largest production area for Pione, and there are tourist farms where you can enjoy grape picking. Every year from early to late August, the park is crowded with families and others coming to enjoy the fresh flavors.
