The history of mandarin oranges in the Nishiura area is very old, dating back to the Edo period.
The Nishiura area is blessed with spectacular views of Suruga Bay and Mt. Fuji, as well as a mild climate, and mandarin oranges are shipped almost throughout the year. In addition, in recognition of our efforts as a production area over many years, we received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award at the 24st National Agricultural Competition in 61.
Nishiura Mikan Jutaro is a mandarin orange produced by Numazu City that is a brand of "Jutaro Unshu" discovered by Mr. Jutaro Yamada in 50. It has a high average sugar content and a rich flavor with an exquisite balance of sourness and sweetness. "Nishiura Mikan Jutaro Premium Gold" is certified as "Shizuoka Food Selection".
