There are various theories about the origin of Ishigaki Strawberry, but each theory mentions what is now Shimizu Ward and Kuno. The area was originally very warm and suitable for strawberry cultivation, and cultivation began on the slopes of Mt. Arito.
Currently, we are cultivating even more delicious Ishigaki strawberries by constructing an artificial stone wall and covering it with a plastic greenhouse.
The main variety produced is Benihoppe. Kuno Kaido is also a recommended spot in Shizuoka where the scenery is spectacular and you can enjoy your mouth and eyes while stuffing your mouth with sweet and sour strawberries.
The season is from early January to early May.
