tea
The Asahina area of Shizuoka Prefecture has been producing tea since the Muromachi period. It is one of Japan's three major Gyokuro production areas (Kyoto's Uji, Fukuoka's Yame, and Shizuoka's Asahina).
The Asahina River, which flows through Okabe Town, is surrounded by mountains on both sides, and has the conditions for producing high-quality tea, such as the slightly cold weather typical of mountainous regions.
This tea has a sweetness, mellow taste and aroma, and has been awarded the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award and the Production Area Award at the National Tea Fair, and has been awarded as the best in Japan.
