KADODE OOIGAWA, an experiential food park for green tea, agriculture, and tourism that opened in 2020, is the largest experiential food park in Shizuoka Prefecture and will become a new "knot" for the region. In addition to food and beverage sales facilities such as a marche, a green tea experience, and a restaurant, it also has facilities for children, a dog run, and a steam locomotive exhibit, so when you visit here, you can experience the richness of Shizuoka Prefecture's food.

``KADODE OOIGAWA'' was developed by Shimada City, Oigawa Agricultural Cooperative Association (JA Oigawa), Oigawa Railway, and Central Japan Expressway, and is directly connected to the newly constructed Oigawa Railway's Kadode Station upon opening!
The building can also be used as a waiting room for Kadode Station.

We will introduce the charm of "KADODE OOIGAWA" in detail.

Souvenirs from Shizuoka Prefecture are gathered in the Marche building area! There are also plenty of agricultural products from producers in the Oigawa basin.

The first thing you see when you enter the facility is the vast Marche. Fresh agricultural products grown in the water, climate, and natural features of the Oi River basin are sold with the name of the producer. Fish caught in the waters around Shizuoka, craft beer, and sake from breweries around the prefecture are also on display.

We have opened a dedicated sales floor in Shizuoka Prefecture that collects products that Shizuoka Prefecture is proud of, such as processed products using Shizuoka Prefecture's agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products, ``Fuji no Kuni New Product Selection,'' and Shizuoka Prefecture's diverse and high-quality agricultural, forestry, and fishery products, ``Shizuoka Food Selection.'' First installation. There are many related products lined up, and it received the ``2020 Fujinokuni Food Capital Development Contribution Award'' for promoting the appeal of Shizuoka's food.

There are many rare ingredients, and your shopping cart will be full. Please bring a cooler box with you during the warmer months.

Enjoy pairing tea and sweets while looking out at the Japanese garden at ``KADODE OOIGAWA Saryo.''

At the back of the marche is the Saryo, where you can see an impressive Japanese garden through a large window. In the restaurant's calm atmosphere, you can enjoy tea and sweets from tea farmers in the Oi River basin. In fact, the wallpaper used for the interior is made with tea stems. Attention is paid to even the smallest details.

The man in the photo is Mr. Ota, a store employee who is also a tea farmer. He looks like he'll be able to spend a relaxing time sitting at the counter, watching how the tea is prepared and how it's enjoyed.

This is ``Rikyu,'' where you can enjoy Kawane shallow steamed tea, Kanaya deep steamed tea, Kanaya hojicha, and tea and sweets pairings such as ``Warabi mochi'', ``Kintsuba'', and ``Shizuoka mandarin dried fruit chocolate.'' I think it's easy to understand the difference in the taste of hojicha, but I think you'll make new discoveries when you taste the differences between lightly steamed and deeply steamed tea.
In addition, there are seasonal menus and a la carte menus of tea and sweets, so why not stop by to take a break?

Learn the behind-the-scenes aspects of tea production at the hands-on attraction "Green Tea Tours."

``Green Tea Tours'' is an experiential attraction where participants wear brown ponchos, transform into tea leaves, and experience ``steaming,'' ``rubbing,'' and ``heating.'' It's a shame that we can't show you the tour itself because we don't allow photography, but at the end of the tour, you can taste four types of tea and learn about the differences in taste, aroma, color, etc., so you can fall in love with tea even more. Masu. (4 yen for ages 3 and older, approximately 500-15 minutes)

We have 16 types of tea available. Try brewing your favorite tea at the Green Tea BIY Stand.

If you look at each corner in the image of a tea pillar, you will find something very interesting written on it. The taste and aroma of tea changes depending on the level of steaming and pasteurization. KADODE OOIGAWA's branded tea ``MANDARA GREEN TEA'' is divided into 16 types of teas from Kawane, Kanaya, Shimada, and Fujieda, focusing on brewed color, taste, and aroma. You can also use the provided tablet to diagnose your tea, so you can find your favorite tea while looking at the mandala diagram.

For example, for deeply steamed tea with steaming level 3 and pasteurization level 3, the tea pillar has words such as ``#Akane color #Aromatic #Kiremon #Drowsy alert #Thank you for driving #Dumplings #Sushi restaurant's egg roll''. It's a slightly stronger tea, so it has a nice aroma, goes well with dango and tamagoyaki at a sushi restaurant, and you can imagine that it's a tea that can wake you up.

Although it is sold as tea leaves and tea bags, the Green Tea BIY Stand also offers a trial corner where you can try brewing tea in original bottles. Oil temperature and extraction time vary depending on the 16 types of tea. If you follow the instructions and brew according to the correct steps, you will be able to make very delicious tea! You'll see that you can make delicious tea using a tea bag, even if you don't use a teapot, so please give it a try.

A location where you can see steam locomotives up close! Da Monde is a farm restaurant that uses local vegetables.

A farmhouse restaurant where you can enjoy creative dishes made with plenty of local vegetables in a buffet style. We use fresh vegetables of the day sold at Marche.
The counter seats near the window in the back are popular. The Oigawa Railway's Kadde Station is right in front of the restaurant, so you can enjoy your meal while watching the occasional steam locomotive train.

Steamed vegetables are a must-try dish. Choose your favorite vegetables, sit at the counter, and the food will be cooked right in front of your eyes, so you can enjoy it freshly made. In addition to seasonal vegetables, we also have rare vegetables that you don't usually find in supermarkets. It is also recommended to have ochazuke with tea rice as a side dish.

Local ingredients such as strawberries, figs, kiwi, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, roasted green tea, and peanuts are processed into gelato in-store. This is also on the buffet menu and has become a popular corner. Strawberries are the standard choice, but our staff recommends peanuts. It has a peanut butter-like scent, but it's made with gelato, so it's refreshing and you can eat it as much as you want. Around 10 types of gelato are available, changing daily. You can enjoy the taste of ingredients that change with the seasons.
There is a wide variety of drinks, and you can also mix various syrups with carbonated drinks. It's a place where you'll want to spend as much time as possible and have fun.

In addition, we offer seasonal parfaits during cafe time after lunch, and we also hold sweets buffets on limited days and times. Don't miss it as it will be announced on Instagram and the homepage.

Oigawa Railway's SL "C11-312" is restored and exhibited. Can you crawl under the vehicle?

The SL "C1946-1988" was manufactured in 11 and arrived at Oigawa Railway in 312. After retiring from active duty in 2007, it was used to share parts with other vehicles, but was restored in time for the opening of "KADODE OOIGAWA". The beautifully repainted car body is enough to make you fall in love with it even if you are not a railway fan.
When I visited to take the photo, it was exam season, so there were ticket-shaped votive tablets for students wishing to pass the exam, named after the neighboring Oigawa Railway's ``Katsu Station'' and ``Komde Station.'' The votive tablets are said to be used for prayers at Chibayama Chiman-ji Temple, an ancient temple in Shimada City. If you purchase this ema, you can dive under the SL. (The votive tablets are displayed on the SL only during the exam season.)

“TOURIST INFORMATION Ooinavi” is a tourist information base in the Oi River basin.

``TOURIST INFORMATION Oinavi'', which is also a tourist information center for the Oigawa River basin, provides a list of ``100 things to do in the Oigawa River'' that lets you know at a glance where to play, where to eat, and where to have tea while touring the Oigawa basin. Introducing. It's like a card, and you can even create your own original sightseeing booklet.

This store carries souvenirs and processed products from the Oigawa River basin, including items with excellent designs that can be used as souvenirs for yourself or as gifts.
There is also a ``green tea tap'' where tea can be dispensed from the tap. Enjoy delicious tea while remembering our ancestors who risked their lives to cross to the other side, with a cup designed after the Kawagoe people who once lived on the Oigawa River.

``TOURIST INFORMATION Ooi Navi'' also serves as a waiting room for Oigawa Railway Monde Station, and when you step outside, the green-brown mailbox catches your eye. You can also take a train from here.

There is also a place where children can play to their heart's content and an event plaza. Let's play together as a family for a day.

The terraced benches, which resemble a tea plantation, are also used as an event venue. There is also a cafe serving tea and sweets made with seasonal fruits.

The paid kids' park is filled with play equipment that will keep children occupied, including a net shaped like Mt. Fuji, a trampoline shaped like a tea plantation, a tree house, and kitchen play equipment. There are also many other shops, too many to introduce here, so please enjoy discovering the food and information of the Oigawa River basin with your children.
