Kikugawa
Deep-steamed Kikugawa tea is the first tea in the prefecture to be registered under the Geographical Indication (GI) protection system. By steaming the sprouts for a long time, the tea becomes rich yellow-green in color, has a mellow taste, and is aromatic, umami, and full-bodied. The Red Brick Warehouse, which was used as a tea blending workshop and warehouse, has become an essential spot for the development of tea in Kikugawa City.
