Akinori Okumura
Born in Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture. Upon graduating from high school, he moved to Tokyo and worked as an office worker. After that, he returned to his hometown, but he decided he wanted to make delicious pasta and returned to Tokyo. He gained 5 years of experience at the long-established Mediterranean restaurant "Domani" (Roppongi, Minato-ku), and worked as a chef at Italian restaurants in downtown areas such as Roppongi, Ginza, and Yokohama. He has created many successful stores. Afterwards, he moved to Nagaizumi-cho, Sunto-gun, where his wife was from. In 2012, he opened Shizuoka Italian Restaurant Musette.
Worker interview
Mr. Okumura has long been a chef at several Italian restaurants in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The deciding factor for opening a store in Hirokoji, Mishima was that he was attracted to the ingredients produced in this area. The water is delicious, and so are the vegetables, meat, and fish. I keep an eye out for information on local producers, and when I find ingredients I like, I order them, taste them, and then meet the producers and ask them what they think. We use up all the ingredients we obtain and contribute to creating a sustainable society through food. The Italian people say he is proud of the land he lives in and values the ingredients he can harvest. ``I want to use local ingredients with care, just like they do,'' says Okumura. The pasta, which incorporates seasonal Mishima ingredients in accordance with the Mishima 24 seasonal calendar, is also popular. All of the several types of pasta are made in-house. In Okumura's hands, even familiar ingredients can be rediscovered in a new way.

"Musetto" means "innocent smile" in Italian. As the name suggests, you can enjoy your food with a smile in a casual atmosphere.
